Goodbye Rosie

This is Rosie.  When we learned she was a dude, we renamed "her" Roosevelt.

James begins the chase.

Roosevelt thought he would be safe under the jungle gym.

He didn't have a prayer.

It's hard to take a life--especially when it's looking right at you.

Tessa helps hold the feet.

Preparing to make the first slice.

Feeling for the pulse.
Dipping the bird in hot water helps the feathers to come off easier.

Helping to pull all the feathers off.

The kids played with the chicken feet.

When James started pulling out the innards, the kids got really grossed out.

Marie kept her ears covered because she didn't want to hear the crunching of bone.

Ben thought he was going to be sick.

Roosevelt's final resting place.

Bryson comes for Marie's Birthday

Yes, Marie got some chicks for her birthday.  I tried to convince her to name the Rhoad Island Red Providence, but instead she chose the name Rosie (the other is Daisy).  They'll be full-grown in August and everyone is invited for pot pie.

Marie Captures Friday Night at the Thornbrues'

Sitting by the fire playing games.  That's pretty much how we spend our weekends.

Hello, James.

Graces doesn't feel good because she has a cold.  Oh bother.

Seth Goes to the Temple

Sorry, ladies, he's unavailable for the next two years...

Denver Children's Museum

Ben waiting to pop the gigantic bubble.

The vet's office.

A quiet moment with Uncle Jarom

Creating paper rockets.

The paper rocket launching pad.  The kids tried to aim for the hoops.

Launching the paper rockets.  Apparently Ben is going to be an aeronautical engineer because his went the furthest.

You'll notice all the supplies Ben brought over to his station...
Grace thought these tap shoes were the greatest thing that ever happened to her.
